Parent‑Friendly Communications Code of Conduct

Elmbridge Eagles communication groups exist to organise rugby activities and support the team environment. Parents and volunteers are expected to communicate respectfully and avoid sharing private or sensitive information in group chats.

WhatsApp groups are intended for club matters and logistical updates only. Private, medical, safeguarding or complaint-related matters should not be discussed in group chats. These should be raised directly with the relevant coach, team manager or the Club Welfare Officer.

This simple guide helps ensure communication on our Spond and WhatsApp platforms stays positive, safe, and respectful.

Be Respectful

Speak to others as you would like to be spoken to.
No swearing, insults, or negative comments about players, coaches, referees, or other parents.

Keep Chats Relevant

Use Spond for attendance and match information.
Use WhatsApp only for quick updates.
Avoid off‑topic conversations that clutter the group.

Protect Privacy

Do not share screenshots of group chats.
Do not post personal information about other families.
Do not share photos of children without consent.

Safeguarding Comes First

Do not message coaches privately about junior players.

Be Supportive

Remember that coaches and managers are volunteers.
