Jack Smith International Call Up

What a summer it has been for Jack Smith who was selected for Scotland

U16 academy following in the footsteps of his schoolfriends and Elmbridge Eagles team mates Bryn Bradley (Wales), Ross Forrest and Nathan Kosbab (Scotland).

The academy is based in Edinburgh and it involved numerous overnights stays following

long train journeys to the city. During the day it was spent taking in the iconic site of Edinburgh Castle before the training sessions began in earnest.

The academy at this age group was recently established and involved a number of boys

who were mainly Rugby union players learning to play Rugby league for the first time.

The culmination of these training sessions led to Jack playing for Scotland in Wigan against a very strong Wales side who ran out 70 – 0 winners. It was an experience for which Jack and his team learnt a lot from and are looking forward to their next international fixture.
