Weekend Results Round Up May 13

May 14, 2023

It's time for the weekly results roundup and this weekend the Eagles fielded teams across all age groups in League Fixtures from Juniors up to Open Age Men.

So let's start with the Open Age Men who had a tough away fixture at Medway Dragons eventually losing 40 - 12. Our Open Age have a few new faces this season as some players from last season have moved on while others have stepped up from last season's U18s, so there's plenty of time to develop and thanks go to all players from both sides, the match day officials and supporters who make these events what they are.

There was better news in the Junior section where we got a clean sweep of results starting with the U16s who recorded a 30 - 16 victory away against Eastern Rhinos. It's a long drive to Colchester and we're always grateful to the parents and players who make the journey and to our opponents for hosting us. Coming away with a victory hopefully makes it all worthwhile.

Moving on the U14s managed to win their fixture against the Eastern Rhinos by 36 - 20 in the London Junior League. Again, it was a hard fought game and we're grateful to the players, coaches, supporters and parents of the Eagles and the Rhinos who made the journey over to us.

And last but most definitely not least the U12s had their first proper hit out of the season with a London Junior League fixture against Bromley Bengals. Bromley were a team we found tough in the pre-season 9s tournament and not much had changed but despite that our U12s managed to emerge on top by 40 - 6 with some outstanding Rugby League debuts.

An action shot from out U12 game while our mascot got in on the action too.

A shout out also goes to the Mixed Primaries who attended training on Saturday Morning. The uptake has been great this season and even with the U12s away we had well over 30 players. It's on until July 15, 10:00 - 11:15 at the Old Cranleighan ground in Thames Ditton every Saturday morning. New and experienced players of all genders are welcome to join registered members and those who can't travel to games in attendance.
